About Us
Our Mission
First Baptist Memphis is about bringing good news to a world that has lost hope. The members of First Memphis want you to know that God loves you and desires a personal relationship with you. We know that because God sent His one and only unique son into the world to seek and save all of us from our own self destruction. We find new life in a relationship with Jesus, and we come together as a family of faith to proclaim that truth to Memphis and beyond. We provide a holy place of respite in the tumult of life. So come, put aside the cares of the week and find yourself in the presence of God.
Who Are We?
Many faces, One Faith.
We are a diverse group of believers – teachers, farmers, bankers, musicians, social workers, public servants, business owners, parents - united by our shared faith in a loving God. Our group of like minded Christ followers have been meeting on the corner of 8th and Noel Street in downtown Memphis to worship Jesus, for over 100 years. We invite you to come join us First Memphis to worship Jesus together.
